Getting Started on Remodeling Ideas

Is it time to get rid of that outdated master bath?  Or upgrade to your dream kitchen?  Maybe add a home theater to your newly finished basement? Whatever you’re deciding to remodel, you’ve got some important things to think about.

Some contractors do better with large, high budget remodels. This is because they have more resources to handle bigger projects. Others don’t have that kind of capacity, and are better suited for smaller jobs.

Don’t be afraid to discuss your budget with potential contractors. They can help you get a realistic idea of what the remodel will cost. A good contractor will tell you when the job size doesn’t fit what they do, which that’s exactly the kind of honesty you want.

If you are looking to have a new kitchen by the time your baby is born, you’re obviously working with a finite time frame  Or maybe you have just decided that this will be the year you redo the master bath, and more flexible on the schedule. Or maybe not because you really want that master bath now.

Just like you would want to know what, if any, constraints would keep a contractor from starting or completing your remodel, the contractor wants to know yours, too.

You’re going to have to choose between lots of different materials, colors, fixtures, appliances, etc. so go ahead and start looking for inspiration. Check out Pinterst or Houzz for ideas on your remodel.

Be sure to save links or print out pictures of the styles that really made you swoon so you can show them to the contractor.

Now that you’ve gotten a feel for your timeline, budget, and collected pictures of what you’re looking for, it’s time to get in touch with us here at Keystone Remodeling! We’ll meet with you to discuss the project and answer any additional questions you may have.
